Review Guidelines

Peer Review Process

The International Journal for Research in Educational Studies (IJRES) follows a double-blind peer review process in accordance with the principles and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All submitted manuscripts are first screened by the editorial team for relevance, originality, and ethical compliance.

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are reviewed by independent subject experts. Throughout the review process, the identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential to ensure fairness and objectivity. Reviewers are required to provide unbiased and constructive evaluations and to declare any potential conflicts of interest.

Authors must submit fully anonymized manuscripts, ensuring that no identifying information is included. Final publication decisions are made by the Editor based on reviewers’ recommendations and the journal’s ethical standards.

Review Timeline

The typical time for a peer review is 6–8 weeks. The duration may vary depending on the availability of reviewers and the number of revisions required.

Review Procedure

  1. Initial Screening: When a manuscript is submitted, it first goes through an editorial check to ensure it fits the journal’s scope, demonstrates originality, and complies with submission guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these basic criteria may be rejected without external review.
  2. Peer Review: Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers who have expertise in the relevant subject area for thorough evaluation.
  3. Reviewer Recommendations: The reviewers provide detailed feedback, including comments and recommendations, which are forwarded to the editor.
  4. Editorial Decision: The editor considers the reviewers’ reports and may decide to:
    • Accept the manuscript without changes
    • Accept with minor revisions
    • Request major revisions and resubmission
    • Reject the manuscript
  5. Revision: If revisions are requested, authors must submit an updated version of the manuscript along with a detailed response addressing each reviewer comment.
  6. Final Decision: The Editor-in-Chief reviews the revised manuscript and makes the final decision on whether it will be accepted or rejected.

Guidelines for Authors

Authors are expected to submit work that is clear, original, and academically sound. Any additional material, such as long calculations or derivations, should be included as appendices.

To support the double-blind review process:

  • The title page should be submitted separately and include the authors’ names, affiliations, and contact information.
  • The main manuscript should be free of any information that could identify the authors.
  • Acknowledgements and funding details should appear only on the title page.

Publication Ethics

Manuscripts that have already been published or are being considered by another journal will not be accepted. All submissions are assessed purely on their academic quality, without bias or discrimination.

The journal upholds a fair and transparent review process and does not charge any publication fees before the peer review is completed, and the manuscript is accepted.

The Editor-in-Chief oversees the publication process, ensuring its academic integrity and consistency, and makes the final decision regarding manuscript acceptance.
